Purpose: getting images from analog security surveilance cameras with the lowest possible price.

Function: capturing video frame from analog video signal for subsequent compression into JPEG file and saving in internal memory for following transmission to any master device via simple USART interface.

Possible applications: in a low cost wireless fire alarm and security systems as a video alarm verification unit, wireless video survailance systems, toys, etc.

Cost: ~14$.

  • Max speed of taking photos: ~2 frames/sec.

  • Video signal characteristics: bw/color, PAL (NTSC is planned), composite, interlace (this is a signal from even analogue survailance video camera).
  • Power supply: 5 - 15V, 120мА DC.
  • Interface: UART 115200 bit/sec, format 8N1, software flow control is available (only while image file is transmitted).
